Often misunderstood because of its name, 2 and a Crew Grill and Motorcycle Shop is far more than just a biker bar or repair shop. This unique dining destination on Business 83 offers much more than even a meal—it serves up a slice of community, camaraderie, and housemade comfort food in an atmosphere where everyone feels like family.
Owners Julie and Vattell "Scooter" Cooke opened the doors in May 2020 with a vision of creating a space where motorcycle enthusiasts could relax, grab a cold beer, and maybe get a patch sewn on their vest while their bike was serviced. But the venue has evolved into so much more—a family- and pet-friendly haven for locals, Winter Texans, and anyone looking for great food, good company, and warm hospitality.

Don’t let the name fool you—2 and a Crew is a gem waiting to be discovered.
Where Everybody Knows Your Name
Walking through the doors of 2 and a Crew feels like stepping into a place where you belong. Julie and the staff are quick to greet regulars by name, often with their favorite drink already in hand. This friendly, personal touch has made the cafe a favorite for Winter Texans, locals, and motorcycle enthusiasts.
The name “2 and a Crew” represents Julie, Scooter, and their vibrant, blended family. While most of “the Crew” have ventured off to pursue their own paths, Julie and Scooter remain at the heart of it all, taking on the heavy lifting. Their colorful and welcoming family ensures that everyone feels at home, and once you visit, you'll be embraced as part of the family, too.
A Taste of Comfort
A former culinary arts teacher, Julie crafts the menu from her own recipes, offering housemade comfort food that’s sure to make you smile. From hearty burgers and sandwiches to daily specials like brisket sandwiches or chili dogs loaded with “the kitchen sink,” every bite is infused with love. They are also open on the weekends for a hearty breakfast.
Dessert lovers are in for a treat, as Julie also handles the baking. On any given day, you’ll find three to five sweet options like muffins, cheesecakes, turnovers, or pineapple upside-down cake. Plus, their signature cinnamon-glazed pecans, cashews, and almonds are always available for a salty and nutty snack.
Live Entertainment and Events
There’s always something happening at 2 and a Crew. The big, covered patio is the hub for live entertainment, karaoke nights, and even Friday afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm) music trivia hosted by a DJ. Saturdays feature live bands, and the Cookes often organize special events, like their upcoming scavenger hunt on February 8, complete with live music, raffles, and vendors. Motorcycles and cars are both welcome. They’re also gearing up for their 5th annual BBQ cook-off.

For those looking to celebrate milestones, 2 and a Crew happily hosts private events like weddings, showers, and parties. And there’s a playful rule here: if you meet your significant other at the restaurant, you have to get married there—a promise a few couples are already planning to fulfill!
A Legacy of Service and Passion
Julie’s deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley, combined with Scooter’s 14 years of Army service and TSA career, are woven into the fabric of their business. Julie’s passion for feeding people and creating joy through her food is at the heart of what they do. As she says, “You need to make sure you love what you do.” That way, the daily grind will still bring you joy.
Scooter’s passion for motorcycles, background as an Army mechanic, and involvement with the Southern Justice Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club add a layer of community and purpose to the restaurant and motorcycle repair shop.
Stop By and Stay Awhile
Whether you’re looking for a hearty meal, a cold drink, or a place to relax with friends, 2 and a Crew delivers. Cameras throughout the venue ensure safety and peace of mind, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to feel at home.
