New Event: Downtown at Sundown

City officials recently announced a new monthly event called Downtown at Sundown on Jackson Street. This event was tested over the summer on July 15 and August 19. After much positive feedback from the community, the decision was made to move the event from Friday night to Saturday night to prevent conflicts with high school football games. The first date for the Saturday night event will be on October 15, 2022, 6-10 pm. Downtown at Sundown is a family- and pet-friendly event. It includes a market, beer garden provided by the Greater Chamber of Harlingen, and concert. Bands will rotate each month and will be set up on the corner of Jackson Street and "A" Street (Lozano Plaza). It is recommended that you bring lawn chairs if you want to sit and enjoy the music. In addition to the vendor booths that will be set up along Jackson Street, several downtown merchants will be open late so that event attendees can shop at night, when the stores are typically closed. Now there are three monthly recurring events in downtown Harlingen: Market Days (held the first Saturday of the month, 9 am to 3 pm) Downtown at Sundown (held the third Saturday of the month, 6 pm to 10 pm) Art Night (held the last Friday of the month, 7 pm to 10 pm) For more details or information on how to become a vendor, contact the Downtown Improvement District office , 209 W.
